About Us

We started Neighborhood Youth United in September 2022 with the goal of helping immigrant and underprivileged youth in our community. Most of us were in their shoes. We understand what it is like to be a young immigrant, learning the language and trying to adapt to a country that doesn’t seem to want you. At their age, we received some help through school and government programs and charitable people within the community, and many of us found opportunities through sports. While all of these things helped, we were still at a disadvantage to our peers. A major thing we were missing that our peers were not was role models who shared the same experiences as us. Our goal, and the reason we began this organization, is to be those role models. We want to give them the help we didn’t have at their age and set an example for them to follow. Whether it is by raising money to buy them winter coats or helping them do their homework, we are determined to have a positive impact on their future.
